Inbetween Architecture was engaged to undertake a re-design for a three-townhouse development that had previously received town planning approval. The developer had a medium to long-term interest in the project and was motivated to achieve the best possible planning and aesthetic outcome.
Within the envelopes set by the planning permit, the floor plans were optimised to gain valuable additional living space, improved amenity and a reduction in wasted circulation space. The exterior concept was also revised to provide a striking and contemporary palette designed to stand out from other, more generic, competing developments. By employing a bold contrast between ground level and first floor finishes and reviewing the placement and proportion of exterior building elements such as roof lines, parapet walls, windows and doors. The outcome is a sophisticated, contemporary example of considered and commercially viable design.
Both townhouses offered for sale were sold prior to construction commencing.
